I just love Martha Stewart and all of her organizing tips! An article in her most recent Martha Stewart Living magazine tells us how to pack a suitcase for a five day trip. This was a perfect article for me, someone who's suitcase never seems to zip up and who's clothes always come out wrinkled! I'll be traveling to Cabo, Mexico soon and I'll use her advice on how to pack a suitcase and let you know how it works!
Here are some of her awesome tips:
- Tuck shoes around the perimeter of the suitcase so they don't crush delicate clothing. Stuff the toes of your pumps and other dress shoes with acid free tissue paper. Socks go inside sneakers. Each pair is kept in an individual draw string shoe bag.
- Plan your outfits ahead of time, complete with shoes, and accessories. Put each outfit on a single hanger and wrap it in a leftover plastic bag from the dry cleaner.
- Place belts, undergarments, leggings, and other accessories in individual pouches or drawstring bags. this ensures that your suitcase stays organized!
- Pack each electronic charger separately in labeled ziplock bags. (ex: phone charger, camera charger, ipod charger, computer charger)
- Make sure you bring toiletries, (in container that holds less then 3 ounces) a change of clothes, and any other item you can't live without incase you are separated from your luggage!
I hope this helps you next time you travel! For the full article pick up Martha Stewart Living Magazine - February 2009
